Our beagle, which sometimes needs someone to open the back door for her, loves to hunt very much at all. When she is out, she barrels down porch steps into the yard and runs to and fro across the lawn in ecstasy. Her nose strolls around the wet grass to be able to find cats’, rabbits’, and other kinds of creatures’ smells, which are usually hard for human beings to distinguish. While she is spinning her tail clockwise and counterclockwise in quick circles, she also sniffs. One can think these two actions altogether.
